Add/Drop a Class:

What are the deadlines for Adding/Dropping a class?

How do I add/drop a class once GROWL closes?

Adds/Drops are handled at the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences Undergraduate Academic Advising Center's (CNAS UAAC) front window.  Please fill out an Undergraduate Enrollment Adjustment Form, which can be obtained at the CNAS UAAC.   Please come by the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences Undergraduate Academic Advising Center (CNAS UAAC) during your academic advisor's drop-in hours to get your advisor's signature.  No appointment is necessary.

Apply for Graduation

I do not know if I am ready to graduate.

Run a degree audit on GROWL.  If you are unsure how to read it, or if you have any questions about the information, please make an appointment with your academic advisor.

I need to update/cancel my graduation application.

Please email your college advisor with the updated information.  If you need to cancel your graduation application, please come by the CNAS UAAC during your academic advisor's drop-in hours.  No appointment is necessary.

Grades

My grade appear to be wrong on GROWL.

You will need to talk to your professor about your grade.  Only the faculty member in charge of the course can change or provide more detailed information about your grade. 

I have an Incomplete grade.  What are my options?

You have one quarter to complete the requirements for a grade.  After one quarter, if no grade is submitted, the Incomplete will automatically change to an F.  If you cannot complete all the requirements within 1 quarter, you can ask for an extension for up to 1 year.  Please come by the CNAS UAAC to complete an Incomplete Extension Petition.

Part-Time Status

What is Part-Time Status?

Part-Time Status is for students that are taking 10 units or less during the regular academic year.

How do I become Part-Time?

Please come by the CNAS UAAC to fill out a Part-Time Fee Reduction Form.

Major Change:

I want to change my major to…

Please schedule an appointment with the advisor associated with the major you want to change to during the 2nd or 3rd week of the quarter.

I am Undeclared and I don’t know what major to declare.

Please review the UCR General Catalog to become familiar with what majors are offered on campus.  Once you have it narrowed done to 2 or 3, you can make an appointment with your College Advisor to help you figure out which major is the best fit for you.

I want to declare a double major.  What do I need to do?

In order to qualify for a double major, you must have at least a 2.7 GPA and a declared in your primary major.  Please come by the CNAS UAAC to obtain the Double Major/Mixed Baccalaureate packet.

Minors:

How to I declare a Minor?

Please come by the CNAS Undergraduate Advising Center to obtain a Request to Declare/Drop A Minor form.  Take it to the Advisor of the MINOR you wish to declare and have the forms completed.

How do I drop a Minor?

Just complete the Minor Petition (and select Drop a Minor).  Submit it to the CNAS Undergraduate Advising Center for final approval.  Only your signature is required before turning it in to the Center.  No appointment is necessary.

Petitions:

I need to request additional units for the quarter/overall graduation.

Readmission:

I lapsed as a student and would like to come back after an absence of one or more quarters.

You will need to complete a Readmission Application and submit it to the college you wish to readmit to.  If you have taken any courses at another institution during your absence, please attach an unofficial transcript or grade summary to your application.  To qualify for Readmission, you need a 2.0 GPA or higher.  Junior and Senior students will need to Readmit to a major.  If you have any questions, please visit or call the CNAS Undergraduate Academic Advising Center to make an appointment.

I was dismissed.  How do I reenter?

First, dismissed students will have to file an Appeal with Associate Dean Scott prior to applying for Readmission.  The Appeal will outline what needs to be completed in order to return.  If you meet the requirements of the Appeal, complete the Readmission Application and submit it, along with your unofficial transcript, to the CNAS Undergraduate Academic Advising Center .  If you have any questions, please visit or call the CNAS Undergraduate Academic Advising Center to make an appointment.

Registration:

I do not know what classes to take next quarter?

Please refer to the UCR General Catalog for the list of requirements for your major.  If you still have questions, please make an appointment with your major advisor.

I am having trouble enrolling in certain courses.

Enrollment is not done at the CNAS Undergraduate Academic Advising Center.  Please review the Enrollment Help Flyer to find Department contacts who help with Registration issues.

I have a hold and cannot register?

Typically, holds are for course plan submission on GROWL.  Make sure you have entered the courses you plan on taking next quarter (ie, BIOL 005A, MATH 009B, etc).  Holds may take up to 3 business days to release.  If you entered the required information and more than 3 business days have passed, you will need to contact your academic advisor to determine how to release your hold.
